THE MANSO RIVER

The Manso river is born in Argentina of the glaciers of Monte Tronador; after a serpentine journey of more than 100 kilometers through the mountain range, during which crosses the Mascardi, Los Moscos, Hess and Steffen lakes, it continues toward Chile and finally ends in the Pacific Ocean.

The last part of this river, that begins in the Steffen lake, is known as Inferior Manso river. In this specific area we carry out our excursions. This section of the river flows through a spectacular natural environment.

The vegetation that we find in this place is of Mountain range Andino/Patagónica,with species like the Cypress, the Cohiue, the Ñire and the Lenga. Coming closer to the border with Chile, we are in the presence of the Valdiviana Forest, where the Larch and the Maniú can be appreciated, among other unique species.

The river flows gently during the first kilometers, but coming closer to Chile numerous class III and IV rapids appear. In this last sector of the river is carried out the rafting to the border.
